Why this kills Chip

Hi, I have a question regarding something that surprised me in CC1 level 46. The first image shows Chip about to step on a brown button tied to the trap under the pink ball. He just walks over the button, and doesn't hold it down with a block, and no other monsters are around to press it. But later (the second image), when Chip opens the red door, the monster is still free. Is this true in general? Is there a name for this effect like the names for lots of other glitches? If not, I can add a note to Bear trap noting this effect. Thanks Lordlicorice 02:14, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
